Badger Connect Podcast: Giselle Janowski on what it means to join Wisconsin women’s basketball program

Giselle Janowski compiled a productive basketball career at Pewaukee High School that included leading her team to a state championship and a state runner-up finish and two WBCA First-Team All-State selections. When it came time to pick a college for her to attend, the opportunity to play at Wisconsin under coach Robin Pingeton represented an easy choice.

“Being able to wear Wisconsin across my chest and represent the state that I grew up in is a dream come true,” Janowski said. “I think it’s such a cool opportunity that I have. And I think when coach P came in, how she really emphasized culture and how connected this team was, I think that was a huge draw.

“And I fit kind of right into their playing style of playing up-tempo, lots of pace. It’s just been a dream come true to be able to be a Badger, be from my home state. My dad went here. So he was definitely happy that I decided to be a Badger. It’s just really a special opportunity to be able to represent the state you’re from.”

Janowski is the latest guest on the Badger Connect Podcast with Mike Heller. She discusses her recruitment, what stood out about Wisconsin, growing up in a family with two older brothers who joined college basketball programs and more. You can check out the full episode here:
