Wisconsin quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton said he could sense Colton Joseph felt the weight of expectations when spring practices began. Joseph, who transferred to Wisconsin in January from Old Dominion, was brought to Madison to start at quarterback and create needed change on offense while under a bigger microscope.

It didn’t take long for Guiton to see the player Wisconsin saw on film during the transfer process to emerge during practices.

“About practice three or four, somewhere in there, you just kind of felt like, ‘OK, he’s hitting his stride,’” Guiton said. “I thought later on in spring, once we got to the last two weeks or so, it was just like, ‘Now he’s playing football.’”

Joseph’s confidence and talent have provided Wisconsin with reason for optimism next season.
